![]() May 21, 2019:The title of the film is confirmed as Minions: The Rise of Gru( Source: Deadline).January 25, 2017:Universal confirm a sequel to Minions (2015) is scheduled for release in July 2020.( Source: Deadline).It is then slated to be available for 10 months on Netflix before returning to Peacock again. At Peacock it is expected to be available for 18 months. Minions: The Rise of Gru is scheduled to be released to stream on NBC Universal’s Peacock streaming service four months after its release in cinemas. Director Kyle Balda returns to the Despicable Me universe after having helmed the first Minions film (2015) and more recently Despicable Me 3 (2017). This computer-animated comedy features a star-studded cast with performances from Steve Carell, Michelle Yeoh, RZA, Russel Brand, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Julie Andrews, Dulph Lundgren and Pierre Coffin returning as the voice of the Minions. Minions: The Rise of Gru is the fifth movie in the Despicable Me film franchise and is a spin-off to the 2015 prequel Minions.
